Sunday, September 20th the youth group will be
hiking the most climbed mountain in North America. We will set out for our adventure after attending the 11:00 mass or around 12:00. There are several trails that will lead you to the top of Mt. Monadnock. The most direct trail is the one that is the most arduous climb. So we will be hiking an easier trail with a less direct route. The
Old Toll Road and White Arrow Trails is about 2.2 miles and the easiest trail according to the website it should take about 1.5 hours to reach the top. This means to plan for it to take at least 3 hours round trip. You should bring a lunch, snack, and plenty of water to eat/drink along the way. Friends and families are welcome for this excursion, but each student will need a permission slip. I will need adults to join us to help drive and to chaperone as we walk. In addition on the way home I plan to stop at the
Cathedral In The Pines. It is minutes from Mt Monadnock. There we will find the Alter Of Nations. We will stop and say a prayer for those currently serving our country and for those who have served it in the past. Please bring anyone's name you especially want to pray for with you. I plan to be back at church by 6:00.
